2010 North Patch Chardonnay
A citrus nose with a hint of cashew nut. The palate is tight with great drive showing citrus flavours, a bit of oatmeal and then finally the cashew nut. It finishes with a lovely line of acid.
Food match: oven roasted chicken or baked snapper
Fruit from the patch of chardonnay in front of the tasting room is whole bunch pressed and the juice is settled overnight. The clear juice is barrel fermented with wild yeast. The oak is 40% new French oak, 30% one year old barrels and 30% 2 year old barrels. The wine is bottled after 11 months in oak.
